I am starting this blog mainly for reflection and self-encouragement with the intention that it may be an inspiration to others as well. I want to start off with one of my favorite verses of all time:
Jeremiah 29:11 NKJV
11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Unfortunately bad things happen in this world every day. One [untrue] thing that I consistently hear that breaks my heart is people blaming these bad things on God. This verse is an inspiration to me, it is one of the first verses that made me realize that evil things never come from God but only from our own freewill and/or from the devil. This verse makes me delve deeper into God’s word to learn more about God’s will for our lives and His unconditional love for us. God is our father – why would He ever want to hurt us? The Bible is full of promises for our life – love and joy and peace. Just in this verse alone Jesus assures us that He has a plan for our lives and it is a plan for a happy future – not a sad future. However we were given freewill and we have to choose to follow God’s plan. If we do not and follow our own plan – this is when things can take a wrong turn. Yes, some of us are highly educated and are good decision makers but only God can see the future and only God knows every detail of our make-up – our minds, thoughts, what makes us tick, our ambitions, feelings, and every tiny detail – He knows us better than we know ourselves – so only He can prepare the best plan for our lives. And He gives us our true desires [not earthly desires] so He will build a plan that will fulfill those desires. When we or others make wrong choices and let the devil have a place in our lives [even indirectly] this is how bad things happen. I like this version of this verse: Ephesians 4:27 AMP
27 Leave no [such] room or foothold for the devil [give no opportunity to him]. We must keep the devil out and follow God’s plan to get the most out of our lives and fulfill God’s will for us. How do we find out God’s will? How do we keep our strength and faith strong during difficult times? Continue on to Jeremiah 29:12-13 NKJV
12 Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. 13 And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.
I hope that this verse encourages you like it has encouraged me & gives you strength and a new outlook on each new day.
In God’s Love, Tiffany
